Murder Mystery FAQ's

How many guests can I invite to my party?

Basically, these parties require at least 8 people, but we can accommodate up to 80. We have found that going over 40 loses some of it's appeal to some of the guests, so we would suggest keeping your guest count between 8-40 for a more personal touch.

How will my guests know what to wear?

This is the fun part and what starts the excitement of your guests! Once you provide us with the list of guests you would like to invite, we will email or mail them a unique invitation that goes with the theme you choose. Once we receive all the RSVPs and have your list of who are couples, who is male or female, and have filled out a special personality form, we will match your guests to their perfect character. Everyone will receive a page long character description, party background, and costume suggestions along with the confirmation of the date and time of the event.

How will my guests know what to say?

Don't worry! It isn't scripted at all. When your guests arrive, they will be given an envelope with clues and questions they may want to ask other characters. Some characters do have announcements they need to make, but they are given all the needed info upon arrival. Once the murder happens, all the guests then get a second envelope with more objectives. The fun part is trying to see who can stay in character until after the murder is solved!

Will I be able to play along with my guests?

Yes! We will be there to help make sure everything flows as it should. You get to relax and enjoy the party too!

How long does the party usually last?

There isn't a set time limit as it is based on the progress made by your guests. Although, generally, they last between two and four hours.

How is the food incorporated into the mystery?

We serve dinner as a buffet style from our customized theme menus and can also offer themed JaK's Juice's to accompany it. People can eat and drink while they mingle and play the game.

Can I offer a door prize to the winner?

Yes! Your package comes with certificates for the ones who solve the mystery (they aren't easy), but we see a lot of clients purchase additional door prizes. Your guests will also have the opportunity to vote for "Best Dressed" and "Best Acting" and there is an award certificate for the person who collects the most money. Yes, lying, cheating, and stealing is encouraged!
